This exterior design project shows how a rooftop terrace can become the most valuable part of a villa.

A Roof That Becomes a Living Space

Set in the heart of the Labinština region, surrounded by Mediterranean greenery and open views toward nature and the sea, this villa gained an entirely new dimension of living through a carefully designed rooftop terrace. Instead of a plain, unused roof, the project created a multifunctional space for relaxing, socialising and enjoying the outdoors.

The idea behind the project was to make the most of the location’s potential and turn the roof into a luxurious outdoor oasis that gives the owners a unique outdoor experience throughout the year.

Design That Connects Architecture and Nature

The exterior design concept is built on modern, clean lines and natural materials that blend harmoniously with the Labinština landscape. A neutral colour palette lets the view, nature and light take the leading role.

The centrepiece of the terrace is a jacuzzi surrounded by custom-made lounge seating, creating an intimate rest area with panoramic views. Adjacent to it is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen sheltered by a modern bioclimatic pergola, allowing the space to be used in any weather.

The terrace is designed as an extension of the interior – a place to cook, dine, relax and enjoy the sunsets.

Weather-Resistant, Low-Maintenance Materials

During the design of the rooftop terrace, special attention was given to selecting materials that withstand outdoor conditions over the long term while keeping their elegant appearance:

• WPC decking in a warm wood tone – a natural look with minimal maintenance.
• Travertine and large-format ceramics for kitchen worktops and cladding.
• A bioclimatic aluminium pergola with adjustable light and ventilation.
• Lounge furniture with waterproof, UV-resistant fabrics.
• Minimalist outdoor lighting that highlights the architecture and creates a pleasant evening atmosphere.
• A jacuzzi integrated into the platform for a clean, elegant overall look.
